U3ZF7ATSJ3CC OpenSUSE 11.3 is the new release of community Linux from Novell. At best, openSUSE 11.3 a bug fix/service pack for 11.2 and 11.1. There are a few new features, most of which are under the hood, but from an end-user perspective there isn’t a lot of new stuff to see here.
But the way they have presented the OS is far better than the older releases, watch the older release here. It brings stability with a new kernel 2.6.34 and a new fell with the new KDE 4.4.4, which I think is the best out there in look. I had liken openSUSE 11.3 to the “Windows 7? of openSUSE releases, where 11.1 and 11.2 were more “Vista”. Most of this can be attributed to the fact that KDE 4.x prior to the most recent 4.3 and 4.4.x builds was horrendously unstable.
I found that rather than introducing new features they have focused on stability and performance. Even their page introducing the new version says the same thing. You can watch the feature set from here. The most promising change they have done is the new Btrfs file system which is in an experimental mode. They have also introduced one graphical partitioner for the new file system with new command line tools.
With the new version they have introduced one cloud based storage system like UbuntuOne which is in partnership with a cloud based storage system SpiderOak. I am happy to say they have managed to build a much stabler system compared to the older releases.
